Tolman's performance in the role of Minnesota police officer Molly Solverson was praised by Vanity Fair, who wrote: "She calmly and confidently stole the whole performance". Tolman won the Critics' Choice Television Award for her performance in the category Best Supporting Actress in Movies/Miniseries.
